Call for the 2025 Best PhD Thesis Award

The European Thermoelectric Society announces the call for the 2025 Best PhD Thesis Award, aimed at recognizing the best PhD thesis defended in a European country between January 1^st, 2025 through December 31^st, 2025. Applications by non-European scientists who defended their PhD thesis in Europe are welcome.

Applications must be submitted by February 15^th, 2026 to European.Thermoelectric.Soc@gmail.com and must include (a) the PhD thesis (if in English) or an extended abstract of the thesis in English (minimum 5 pages); (b) a maximum of five peer-reviewed papers authored by the applicant and related to the thesis topics; (c) a letter of the thesis supervisor supporting the application; and (d) a cover letter describing motivations, goals, and results of the PhD thesis along with its legal and actual duration. Theses will be evaluated by three external anonymous reviewers.

The Awardee will receive a prize of 500 euros, a certificate, and will give an invited talk at ECT 2026.
