The European Thermoelectric Society announces that applications are open for the 2024 Best PhD Thesis Award

The award recognizes the best PhD thesis on thermoelectrics successfully defended in a European country in 2024. Applications by non-European scientists who defended their PhD thesis in Europe are welcome. Applications must be submitted by February 15, 2025 and must include:

  1. the PhD thesis (if in English) or an extended abstract of the thesis in English (3 pages or more);
  2. peer-reviewed papers authored by the applicant and related to the thesis topics;
  3. a letter of the thesis supervisor supporting the application;
  4. a cover letter describing motivations, goals, and results of the PhD thesis.

Theses will be evaluated by three anonymous reviewers who had no collaboration with any of the candidates/tutors over the past five years. ETS retains the right not to assign the Award. The winner will be announced by April 15, 2025 on the ETS website and by e-mail to the winning applicant.

The Award to the best PhD thesis on thermoelectrics is a money prize of 500 euros, a plate, and an invited talk at ECT 2025.

Applications must be sent within the deadline of Feb. 15, 2025 to European.Thermoelectric.Soc@gmail.com as a single zip file, either as an attachment or as a link to a freely accessible cloud drive.
